6‑month Contract (Umbrella only)
100% REMOTE WORKING

Your new company
We are one of the UK's most respected and impactful charities, recognised nationwide for empowering independence, mobility and inclusion. As we elevate our cyber maturity, we're investing in cutting‑edge security tooling and strengthening our defensive posture to protect the people, data and services at the heart of our mission. This is a rare chance to take the lead on a high‑profile security initiative where your expertise will directly shape the resilience of systems relied on by thousands.

Your new role
You'll be the technical heartbeat of the organisation's security operations. You'll run day‑to‑day defensive activities, monitor and analyse alerts, respond to incidents and ensure the organisation's security posture remains robust, proactive and threat‑ready. You'll work closely with an outsourced 24/7 SOC, validating the quality of their service and acting swiftly on escalations. You'll maintain, optimise and enhance a broad suite of security tools, including EDR, SIEM, email security, cloud security platforms, vulnerability management tooling and threat‑detection technologies, ensuring they are configured to best practice and delivering maximum protection. You'll conduct vulnerability scanning, oversee patching cycles, perform cloud security assessments, refine playbooks, support incident response and collaborate with project and change teams to ensure new deployments and business initiatives are delivered securely. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where your judgement, technical depth and ability to stay ahead of emerging threats will shape the organisation's overall cyber resilience.

What you'll need to succeed
You're an experienced Cyber Security Engineer or Security Analyst with a strong track record operating in live security environments. You bring deep technical knowledge across endpoint protection, SIEM/EDR tooling, cloud security platforms, identity security, vulnerability management, threat detection workflows and Microsoft‑based environments. You're confident analysing events, responding to incidents, optimising configurations and working with outsourced suppliers. You understand Windows OS in depth, have working knowledge of Linux and MacOS, and you're comfortable scripting in languages such as Python or PowerShell. You follow procedures with precision, communicate clearly, work collaboratively across IT disciplines and stay relentlessly up to date with the latest threats, vulnerabilities and security innovations. Professional security certifications, either held or in progress, will strengthen your application.

What you'll get in return
This is a contract with genuine purpose. You'll enjoy full remote working, the autonomy to lead a high‑impact security initiative and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference within a respected organisation whose services change lives. Alongside a competitive day rate, you'll be shaping a security landscape that truly matters.

Where to Advertise Edge Computing Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising edge computing jobs in the UK requires a different approach to most technical hiring. Edge computing sits at the intersection of embedded systems, networking, cloud infrastructure and real-time data processing — and the professionals who specialise in it are a small, highly technical community not well served by general job boards. Candidates with genuine edge and IoT expertise are rarely browsing general platforms, and roles in this space are frequently misunderstood or miscategorised by non-specialist recruiters. This guide, published by EdgeComputingJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise edge computing roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

New Edge Computing Employers to Watch in 2026: UK and Global Companies Shaping Edge Innovation

Edge computing is transforming how data is processed by bringing compute power closer to the source of generation. With the proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT), real‑time analytics, autonomous systems, and latency‑sensitive applications, edge computing has moved from a niche discipline to a core component of digital infrastructure. In 2026, organisations that specialise in or heavily invest in edge computing are expanding their teams to build distributed systems, real‑time analytics platforms, and edge‑optimised AI. For professionals exploring opportunities on www.EdgeComputingJobs.co.uk , understanding which employers are growing, winning contracts, or securing investment is essential. This article highlights the new and high‑growth edge computing employers to watch in 2026, including UK startups, international innovators with a UK presence, and established companies shifting strategy toward edge.

How Many Edge Computing Tools Do You Need to Know to Get an Edge Computing Job?

If you’re trying to start or grow a career in edge computing, it can feel like you’re navigating a maze of tools, frameworks and platforms — Kubernetes, Docker, IoT frameworks, AWS Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge, OpenShift, TinyML toolkits, networking orchestration, real-time streaming frameworks, and on it goes. Scroll job boards and community forums and it’s easy to conclude that unless you master every buzzword imaginable, you’ll never get a job. Here’s the honest truth most edge computing hiring managers won’t necessarily say out loud: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every edge computing tool — they hire you because you can solve real system problems using the tools you know. Tools matter, yes — but only when they support clear outcomes: reliable systems, performance at scale, secure edge deployments and real business value. So how many edge computing tools do you actually need to know to secure a job? For most edge computing roles, the answer is fewer than you think — and a lot clearer when sorted by fundamentals and roles. This guide shows you what matters, what doesn’t, and how to focus your time wisely so you come across as capable, confident and employable.
