Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable nurse to join the new Community Treatment and Care team in Newcastleton. The role will involve working in both a clinic and with District Nurses in a community environment.

It is a fixed‑term post until 30/09/2026, part‑time. The salary shown is pro rata.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality, effective, person‑centred care to patients.
  • Work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Communicate efficiently with team members and patients.
  • Collaborate with District Nurses and team members in community settings.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Registered nurse.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience in nursing preferred; full training will be given.
  • Proficient in using IT systems.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (mandatory for travel).
  • Ability to work family‑friendly hours across the week, Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend work may be required.
Benefits and Working Hours

Family friendly hours spread across the week, Monday – Friday. In time, there may be opportunities for occasional weekend work. As from 1 April 2026 the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata, but hourly rate will be increased accordingly.

Legal and Eligibility Requirements

Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check. If the post is assessed as a regulated role, the appointment will be subject to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. If there is any change to the required level of checks, this will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager or Recruitment Team.

To work in the United Kingdom, you must demonstrate right to work. The permission is granted by the UK Visa and Immigration Service. NHS Scotland will check your entitlement to work in the UK. Please confirm you already have appropriate right to work or that the post would be eligible for sponsorship before submitting your application.
