Community Assessment Day MSK Physiotherapist

This role forms part of the Governments Working Well initiative, with the strategic aim of improving population health outcomes, reducing health-related worklessness, and supporting individuals to achieve a safe, timely and sustainable return to employment. The post is ideally suited to a highly experienced, self-employed MSK Physiotherapist, contributing advanced clinical expertise across two half‑day CAD sessions per month.

Main duties of the job

To provide advanced specialist Musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy expertise within Community Assessment Days (CAD), supporting individuals who are currently absent from work due to long‑term MSK‑related conditions. The post holder will operate at an advanced level of clinical practice, working as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) alongside an Occupational Therapist and Social Prescriber to deliver comprehensive, holistic assessments and contribute to high‑quality, integrated care planning.

About us

Newcastle GP Services (NGPS) is the GP federation for Newcastle‑upon‑Tyne. We are a member organisation for 28 out of the 29 general practices in Newcastle. We support them to provide excellent clinical care and a positive patient experience.

Our purpose is two‑fold:

  • To serve our members by ensuring the voice of primary care is not lost in the health system of Newcastle
  • To do things once when it makes sense to do so, rather than 29 times across all practices, or seven times, across all Primary Care Networks

We are a skilled team of non‑clinicians and clinicians with significant experience working in healthcare. Our role is to help practices work at scale across Newcastle, providing targeted and effective patient care and innovative methods of working to improve quality and efficiency.

Job responsibilities

  • Use advanced clinical reasoning to identify barriers to work and contribute to individualized, goal‑focused plans in collaboration with the MDT.
  • Work closely with the Occupational Therapist and Social Prescriber to ensure an integrated, biopsychosocial approach to patient care.
  • Provide expert advice on activity modification, self‑management strategies, rehabilitation pathways and return‑to‑work planning.
  • Contribute to MDT discussions and joint decision‑making to support positive employment and health outcomes.
  • Produce clear, concise clinical documentation and assessment outcomes in line with service and information governance requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of professional practice in accordance with HCPC, CSP, and relevant NHS frameworks.
  • Engage positively with the aims and values of the Working Well initiative, promoting health, independence and employability.
  • Work autonomously within agreed service parameters, recognising the responsibilities associated with self‑employed practice.

Skills

  • Ability to apply a biopsychosocial approach to assessment and intervention
  • Highly developed communication skills, including complex clinical discussion and shared decision‑making

New Edge Computing Employers to Watch in 2026: UK and Global Companies Shaping Edge Innovation

Edge computing is transforming how data is processed by bringing compute power closer to the source of generation. With the proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT), real‑time analytics, autonomous systems, and latency‑sensitive applications, edge computing has moved from a niche discipline to a core component of digital infrastructure. In 2026, organisations that specialise in or heavily invest in edge computing are expanding their teams to build distributed systems, real‑time analytics platforms, and edge‑optimised AI. For professionals exploring opportunities on www.EdgeComputingJobs.co.uk , understanding which employers are growing, winning contracts, or securing investment is essential. This article highlights the new and high‑growth edge computing employers to watch in 2026, including UK startups, international innovators with a UK presence, and established companies shifting strategy toward edge.

How Many Edge Computing Tools Do You Need to Know to Get an Edge Computing Job?

If you’re trying to start or grow a career in edge computing, it can feel like you’re navigating a maze of tools, frameworks and platforms — Kubernetes, Docker, IoT frameworks, AWS Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge, OpenShift, TinyML toolkits, networking orchestration, real-time streaming frameworks, and on it goes. Scroll job boards and community forums and it’s easy to conclude that unless you master every buzzword imaginable, you’ll never get a job. Here’s the honest truth most edge computing hiring managers won’t necessarily say out loud: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every edge computing tool — they hire you because you can solve real system problems using the tools you know. Tools matter, yes — but only when they support clear outcomes: reliable systems, performance at scale, secure edge deployments and real business value. So how many edge computing tools do you actually need to know to secure a job? For most edge computing roles, the answer is fewer than you think — and a lot clearer when sorted by fundamentals and roles. This guide shows you what matters, what doesn’t, and how to focus your time wisely so you come across as capable, confident and employable.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in Edge Computing Job Applications (UK Guide)

In today’s fast-evolving tech landscape, edge computing is one of the most sought-after fields — blending distributed systems, embedded systems, networking, cloud, IoT, data and real-time processing. But that also means hiring managers are highly selective. They scan applications fast and look for signals of relevance, impact, technical depth and real-world delivery long before they read every line. This guide demystifies what hiring managers in edge computing look for first in your application — so you can tailor your CV, portfolio and cover letter to jump out of the stack. Whether you’re targeting edge systems roles, embedded IoT edge jobs, edge-native data roles, edge platform engineering or edge-AI positions, this checklist will help you position your experience in a way hiring managers can trust immediately.
