Vehicle Technician / Mechanic role at Lookers Motor Group Limited. Location: Lookers Chester Nissan / Renault. Contract: Full-Time, Permanent. Salary: OTE up to £48,200 (uncapped); £31,000 to £38,000 basic depending on qualifications, plus £3,000 Productivity Bonus and Time Saved Bonus Scheme. Hours: 40 hours between Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm, plus every other Saturday 8:30am - 12:30pm.

Lookers Chester Nissan Renault are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join their workshop. You will work with experienced technicians to carry out vehicle health checks using the latest technology, service vehicles and perform additional repairs as needed. You will report to the Aftersales Manager, receiving ongoing support and opportunities for career progression and training, including manufacturer accredited schemes and Hybrid & Electric training.

We value delivering first-class customer service and invite qualified Vehicle Technicians or experienced Mechanics to apply, whether from a dealer group or an independent garage.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out vehicle health checks using the latest technology
  • Conducting vehicle service in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and customer requests
  • Carrying out any additional repairs once authorised by the customer
  • Warranty repairs per the manufacturer’s guidelines and ensuring relevant write up is complete
  • Taking the customer’s vehicle out on a road test to ensure all faults are rectified
  • Completing all relevant paperwork to a high standard
  • Supporting and providing guidance for all Technicians and Apprentices within the workshop
  • Carrying out mechanical and electrical diagnosis using brand-specific diagnostic equipment to manufacturers guidelines
  • Assisting Service and Diagnostic Technicians with engine and mechanical/electrical diagnosis using computer-based technology
  • Liaising with the manufacturers’ technical team when guidance is required
  • Advising the customer/manufacturer of any further work required
Qualifications / Experience
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
  • Motor industry experience (brand or non-brand)
  • Full and valid UK driving licence
  • Self-motivated, able to support the team, ambitious and eager to learn, and able to maintain high standards
  • Brand accreditation training provided if previous brand experience is not essential
  • Diagnostic, MOT and EV experience desirable but not essential
