Vehicle Technician / Mechanic Vacancy – £2,000 Joining Bonus

This is a full‑time permanent role working 40 hours a week. We offer a competitive basic salary with an OTE of £38,000–£55,000 (depending on experience and productivity), plus a generous uncapped bonus scheme and overtime opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections, repairs and services to the highest of standards within scheduled times, meeting company and franchise standards.
  • Ensure all necessary Vehicle Health Checks are completed accurately.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring all jobs are completed to a good standard.
  • Replace components, parts, lubricants and consumables and record usage.
  • Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Work effectively within a highly successful team.
  • MOT card preferable but not essential.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.

Additional Offers

We will offer a £2,000 joining bonus, T&C’s apply. Starting bonus of £2,000 (gross) is applicable to new starting Vehicle Service Technicians at Gates from the 1st October 2023 only. Once a job offer has been made and accepted, an introductory commission of £1,000 will be paid upon completion of one month’s service, with a further £1,000 payment on successful completion of the probationary period. Starting bonus payments for re‑joining Motor Vehicle Technicians are at the discretion of a Managing Director.
