Mechanical / Multi-Skilled Engineer (f/m/d)

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What awaits you:

  • Overall management and ownership of site furnaces and combustion systems
  • Improvement of site assets through RCM and Capex projects
  • Manage the life cycle maintenance plan to ensure strong refractory reliability
  • Manage large capital budgets to perform all refractory and body maintenance
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to provide robust solutions to refractory management
  • Ensure reliability of ancillary equipment
  • Ensure strong reliability with a fix for life mindset towards burner systems and combustion management
  • Identify improvement opportunities within own area of ownership and other areas
  • Build and maintain bill of asset materials within plant CMMS
  • Close collaborative and cross-functional work with other departments
  • Management of the burner and ancillary 5-year plan
  • Creating / developing reliability measurements for furnaces
  • Ensuring preparation for maintenance shutdowns
  • Management of site gas network and condition
  • Developing innovative solutions for improved performance / reliability / energy

How you convince us:

  • You have qualifications in engineering or relevant experience in similar areas
  • You have good communication skills and the ability to fault find in a logical manner
  • You have experience in industrial burner / incinerator
  • You have experience with gas trains / Gas Safe trained
  • Experience in metal recycling and molten metal processing

Location Profile

The Novelis Latchford plant a suburb of Warrington Cheshire in England employs approximately 200 employees. It is one of Europe’s largest aluminium used beverage cans recycling plants and Europe’s largest closed-loop recycling operation for automotive aluminium rolled products with an annual recycling capacity of up to 195000 tonnes. The plant is an essential part of Novelis’ European production and collaborated with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) to create the first closed-loop system in Europe with a dedicated railway service to efficiently deliver aluminium between Novelis and JLR’s production site in the UK.

The Latchford plant is committed to its community in supporting math and science education to local schools as well as sharing the value of safety and works with a local charitable foundation to sponsoring health. In addition Novelis UK supports the program “Every Can Counts” to actively promote can recycling across Europe.
