Beira is calling. A bold, modern restaurant inspired by Highland folklore and global flavours, Beira is fast becoming Inverness's most exciting dining destination. Located within the AC Hotel by Marriott but operating with its own identity, Beira delivers high-quality seasonal dishes with a strong street food influence and a real focus on creativity and craft.

We’re on the hunt for a Sous Chef with flair, focus, and fire in the belly—someone who’s ready to lead service, develop junior talent, and help push our kitchen to the next level. This is more than a step up—it’s a chance to be part of something with soul.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Taking charge of the kitchen during service, especially in the Head Chef's absence
  • Supporting menu development with bold, inspired ideas that fit Beira's vibe
  • Training and mentoring junior chefs on technique, consistency, and pace
  • Managing stock, supplier orders, and daily prep with an eye on quality and cost
  • Monitoring portion sizes and food waste to keep operations sharp
  • Owning standards in food hygiene, health & safety, and kitchen cleanliness
  • Helping to maintain a smooth, efficient back-of-house that’s built on mutual respect

What We’re Looking ForEssential

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role
  • Proven ability to run a busy kitchen with calm, control, and clarity
  • Passion for high-quality, flavour-led food
  • Experience managing stock, prep, and day-to-day kitchen systems
  • Strong organisational skills, clean working habits, and a team-first mentality
  • Fluent in English

  • A love for global cuisine, modern street food, and inventive dishes
  • Up-to-date with food trends and seasonal produce
  • Creative flair and an eye for clean, striking presentation
  • Confident using kitchen software and ordering systems (Excel, Word, digital platforms)
