If this sounds like you, or you’re curious to learn more, then this role could be the perfect opportunity. Join our Building Services team as our new Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.


You will join our multi‑disciplinary ‘Industry and Infrastructure Facilities Service Line’ which now focuses on Buildings. This line brings together Building Services, Structures, Project / Design Managers, and Critical Systems teams across a global portfolio of Rail, Aviation, Ports, Data Centres, Industrial, Logistics, advanced manufacturing and automotive sectors.


Key Responsibilities

  • Take a key role representing Ramboll on MEP projects, leading your own discipline and (for suitably sized projects) also managing engineers of a complementary discipline.
  • Work using your own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of your discipline or bring specialist experience applicable to the role.
  • Complete detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function.
  • Inspire confidence internally and externally to strengthen client relationships.
  • Manage time on projects to meet deadlines and complete assigned tasks.
  • When acting as Ramboll project manager, coordinate tasks to ensure all deadlines are met and resources are allocated appropriately.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Engineer with a proven and demonstrable track record in the discipline.
  • Holding or pursuing a CIBSE / IET / IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree, or an HNC in an applicable discipline with commitment to further education.
  • Achieved or working towards IEng or CEng status.
  • Strong initiative, minimal supervision, and specialist experience in relevant technical areas.
  • Excellent communicator able to simplify complex concepts.
  • Interest or experience using digital and parametric design tools.
