Job summary

We have an exciting part time Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist opportunity within our Integrated Services teams working in Berkshire East, across Maidenhead. The role is a fixed term contract of 6 to possible 12 months and involves 18 hours per week.


Previous Band 5 physiotherapist experience and knowledge in older adults rehabilitation is required. Understanding of how community, primary and secondary care services, local authorities and voluntary services work together is key.


Main duties

  • Effectively manage a caseload of Community Physiotherapy patients.
  • Appropriately delegate ongoing rehabilitation plans to support workforce where appropriate.
  • Supervise and support more junior and unqualified support workers.
  • Contribute to and help implement service development.

Working pattern + Service operating hours

This post is open to those looking for a fixed term part time position. The service operates Monday to Friday between 08:00-17:00; hours are flexible depending on service need.


Face to face rehabilitation is delivered, with the ability to work virtually where appropriate.

Job responsibilities

The must haves for this role:



  1. Qualified Physiotherapist with HCPC registration.
  2. Solid experience of working at Band 5 physiotherapy level.
  3. Sound clinical reasoning and knowledge in older adults rehabilitation.
  4. Fantastic interpersonal skills.

To be successful you will need the ability to work independently and as a team player, support the East Community Physiotherapy service, and help implement service improvements and contribute to QMIS.


Person Specification
Education / Qualifications / Training

  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • HCPC Registered.

Continuous Professional Development

  • Evidence of CPD including recent relevant course.

Previous Experience

  • Sound experience as a Band 5 in a broad rotational post including orthopaedics, medical, care of the elderly, neurological and musculoskeletal.
  • Experience working as part of a team.
  • Experience supervising junior staff and students.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in the NHS.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Clinical knowledge and skill in relevant area.
  • Ability to pass on skills/knowledge within formal and informal settings.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Good working knowledge of NHS and interaction with social services etc.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to drive and have access to a vehicle for work.
  • Ability to flexibly travel between sites.
