Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

Job overview

Here is an exciting opportunity for you to join our Pharmacy team as a Senior Pharmacist - Biologics and Homecare. You will provide specialist clinical pharmacy services and advice to a specified clinical speciality(s), demonstrating a high level of clinical effectiveness. You will also manage and develop the delivery of medicines to Basildon hospital patients through homecare services in accordance with current regulatory and national standards. You will be part of a high-quality pharmacy service to patients within Basildon requiring biologics therapy.

Main duties of the job
  • Take part in the provision of general clinical, dispensary and pharmacy on call services
  • Duties are to be undertaken in accordance with departmental SOPs. Professional actions are to be governed by current professional, clinical, and legal guidelines and in line with best practice. The post holder will adhere to the principles of the NHS Constitution

Education & Qualification

Essential criteria

  • Member of GPhC
  • MPharm Degree

Desirable criteria

  • Independant Prescriber
  • Clinical Diploma or similar post grad qualification

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Extensive relevant Pharmacy experience including providing a clinical pharmacy service
  • Line management experience

Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience in Homecare and Biologics
