As a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) you will be working in a creative and challenging environment, delivering a wide range of projects across our United Utilities framework.

MMB are among one of seven partners that will support United Utilities to deliver £3bn worth of upgrades to critical infrastructure assets including water and wastewater treatment sites, pumping stations and reservoirs within the North West during the AMP8 period.

Your work as a Senior Mechanical Engineer will include the following activities:

  • Leading the interfaces and integration of the mechanical design with that of other disciplines.
  • Management, reviewing and preparation of mechanical design deliverables (such as calculations, drawings for plant general arrangements, documentation, schedules, specifications and design reports) to achieve the correct time / cost / quality balance for the project.
  • Providing quality assurance of others work by undertaking check/review functions.
  • Supporting the development of the mechanical engineering team, coaching and mentoring junior engineers to develop their skill set and identifying the correct resource for the projects.

Candidate Specification :

Qualified Mechanical Engineer (preferably Chartered or Incorporated).

Water or wastewater non-infrastructure and infrastructure design experience.

Mott MacDonald Bentley offers fully integrated design and build services to its clients, combining the contracting expertise of JN Bentley and the design specialisms of Mott MacDonald.

This role is employed by Mott MacDonald but will involve working across the joint venture business, both with Mott MacDonald and JN Bentley colleagues.
