Job Description

Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer; Role: Electro-mechanical Systems; Location: Cambridgeshire; Salary: £50k-£65k

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer passionate about creating transformative technology? This role involves the design and delivery of complex hardware – with applications in precision automation, electro-mechanical, and advanced manufacturing, from early-stage R&D through to scalable production. You’ll join a talented, multidisciplinary team working at the cutting edge of innovation, delivering robust mechanical solutions that integrate into larger, system-level platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Design & deliver complex mechanical subsystems within integrated platforms
  • Full product lifecycle development – concept, detailed design & design for manufacture
  • Conduct hands-on prototyping & testing
  • Work in a highly skilled multidisciplinary engineering team
  • Project leadership – lead projects, mentor & technically guide engineers
Qualifications
  • Background in developing electro-mechanical systems
  • Strong 3D CAD skills
  • Proven experience in developing new products & precision mechanisms
  • Knowledge of a range of manufacturing techniques
  • Hands on and practical skills – prototyping & testing
