Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Senior Design Engineer based in Wednesbury, with flexibility for occasional remote work and progression into a Chief Engineer role. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and managing design projects for bespoke lifting equipment, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and client requirements. Your tasks will include working with safety critical special purpose machinery in heavy engineering, designing mechanical systems, working closely with cross-disciplinary teams, preparing technical drawings and documentation using CAD software, and supporting the manufacturing process. You will play a key role in advancing innovation and efficiency in equipment designs across diverse industries such as Rail, Construction, and Aerospace.


Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in mechanical engineering, a sound understand of engineering principles, stress calculations and industrial experience are essential.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Inventor and Vault
  • Experience with BS 2573, BS EN 13155 & BS EN 13001 and an understanding of electrical control and hydraulic power would be an advantage.
  • Ability to manage projects and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in the manufacturing or heavy machinery industry is a plus
