Assystem Warrington, England, United Kingdom. Join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit. Reporting to the Turbine Island Lead, the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for developing fluid systems. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer shall work closely with multi-disciplinary teams and the supply chain to help deliver the system design.

Responsibilities
  • Your mission: Develop 2D CAD drawings, including detailed process flow diagrams (PFD) and process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
  • Prepare 3D CAD/BIM models, covering plant layouts, piping design, isometrics, MTO, general arrangement drawings, detailed drawings, and sketches.
  • Perform layout optimization engineering throughout design phases to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in 3D model reviews, layout reviews, design reviews, and technical meetings to ensure precision and alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with all design safety factors, tolerances, specifications, standards, codes, legislation, and requirements.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to achieve a coordinated and cohesive design.
  • Maintain thorough records of the design process in line with best practices, ensuring meticulous documentation.
  • Update and manage databases for CAD/BIM design documentation, keeping everything current and organized.
  • Report status and updates to the management team to keep everyone informed and aligned.
  • Support the team by upholding high standards, meeting targets, and adhering to quality, time, and budget constraints.
  • Mediate and resolve issues with all stakeholders, ensuring solutions are aligned and effective.
  • Adhere to company statutory H&S Policies and rules, maintaining compliance with project and quality standards.

Qualifications
  • Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer or similar role, ready to drive innovation and excellence.
  • Collaborative team player with a knack for transforming concepts into reality through engineering teamwork.
  • Proficient in 2D CAD systems like AutoCAD for creating precise and detailed drawings.
  • Skilled in 3D CAD/BIM systems (Revit, Inventor, Solidworks, Solid Edge, Siemens NX, PDMS, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or similar) for crafting dynamic models and drawings.
  • Professionally qualified in an engineering-related field, bringing expertise and technical prowess.
  • SC Clearance or the capability to achieve it, ensuring readiness for high-security projects.
