P&M Recruitment is working on behalf of a leading privately owned Building Services Consultancy, they would like to appoint a permanent and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer based within their London Office.
Within this role you will have the opportunity to:
Build upon your existing skills, knowledge and experience of mechanical services
Be supported and encouraged through your professional development
The Role: The successful candidate will provide technical support, working collaboratively in a multi discipline team consisting of Buildings Services Designers, Revit Technicians, Building Physicist and Document Controllers. You will be involved with a wide range of projects across numerous market sectors, delivering services from feasibility through to detailed and fully co-ordinated design for installation purposes; RIBA stages 0 to 5. Duties will include: Deliver coordinated design working alongside colleagues from other disciplines
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current industry regulatory and design standards
Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff and apprentices providing clear guidance and direction
Assist with the setting of design strategy
QA documents, design, drawings prior to issue, to ensure company standards are maintained
Liaise professionally with clients, professional teams, contractors and staff of all levels
Contribute to the delivery of projects leading small mixed discipline team
Attend client, design team and project meetings
Undertake feasibility studies and surveys
Preparing load calculations and applying for utility connections
Production of detailed mechanical services design
Undertaking sub-contractor design drawing and technical submission reviews
Undertaking site quality and legislative inspections and prepare associated reports
Use industry design guides, British Standards and Building Regulations
Preferred Skills, Experience & Qualifications: Professional Membership desirable
Degree or HNC/D in relevant subject or equivalent
Proficient with relevant industry design software
Good time management organised with a flexible attitude
Be a team player, but able to operate at an individual level
