We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead our mechanical design function and drive high-impact projects within our Engineering team.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:

  • Lead and manage the Mechanical Design team, overseeing capacity planning, resource allocation, and performance development.
  • Produce system drawings, general arrangements, sub-assemblies, and detailed part drawings using 2D CAD and 3D Autodesk Inventor, in line with QHE design principles.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Procurement, Sales, R&D, and external suppliers and technical agencies.
  • Implement design-for-manufacture principles and drive configuration management across the product range.
  • Produce Pipe & Instrumentation Diagrams, Bill of Materials, and maintain technical documentation to ISO standards.
  • Support recruitment, training, and formal appraisals within the Mechanical Design team.
  • Provide design support to Manufacturing, Sales, and R&D, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.


What You’ll Bring

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Solid experience in mechanical design, ideally in special purpose machinery or manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal and machined component design, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in the chemical and processing industry is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to produce manufacturing-ready documentation and manage technical files to ISO standards.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent English communication skills.
