About the Company

White label Recruitment are pleased to be working with an extremely reputable and market leading manufacturing company who have been established for over 100 years. Our exclusive client manufactures complex bespoke special purpose machinery and are based close to Blackburn. The reason for this hire is that my client is experiencing a huge amount of growth at the moment, due to an ever-growing order book and the development of new products.

About the Role

The company is recruiting Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for their busy and growing design dept. One of the greatest selling points of this business is their brilliant staff retention levels, most of the people at the business have been there for over 10 years, which is rather unheard of these days. Additionally, they offer a 4 day week!

Pay range and compensation package

  • Benefits: 4 day working week (Monday to Thursday)! 4.5 day week if this works better for you.
  • 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
  • 38 hours per week. Very flexible on working hours (some start as early as 6.30AM)
  • Phone and Laptop provided
  • Death in service benefit 3 x annual salary
  • Health cash plan
  • Salary sacrifice pension

Responsibilities

  • 5–7+ years’ machinery design experience
  • Inventor preferred; Other 3D acceptable if the rest of the profile is strong
  • Solid grounding in tolerancing, GD&T, DfM/DfA
  • Able to lead sub-assembly design and coordinate with a small team
  • Ability to undertake all aspects of machine design from conceptual and detailed design to prototyping and testing
  • Ensure that any new products and features are designed in accordance with Machinery Directive.

Qualifications

5–7+ years’ machinery design experience

Required Skills

  • Inventor preferred; Other 3D acceptable if the rest of the profile is strong
  • Solid grounding in tolerancing, GD&T, DfM/DfA
  • Able to lead sub-assembly design and coordinate with a small team
  • Ability to undertake all aspects of machine design from conceptual and detailed design to prototyping and testing
