A little background on our Mechanical Engineering Team: Haskoning have a dedicated Mechanical Engineering team specialising in serving the global maritime market. We provide consultancy and design services to the global maritime market specialising in the feasibility, design, and specification of a wide range of mechanical equipment packages and systems within Ports, Shipyards and Container Terminals.

Job Description

As a Senior BIM Modeller with 5-10 years’ experience, you will work as part of the Mechanical Team to assist in the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects. Projects will vary in size and complexity and provide a variety of challenges for you to be involved in.

On the job learning will be assisted by a supportive team around you. Formal training will be provided specific to your career and development aspirations with both internal and external providers.

Your work will primarily be completed in Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Civil 3D and Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Duties will include:

  • Lead the development of detailed models for mechanical utility systems within maritime environments (both underground and aboveground).
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure accurate and coordinated designs.
  • Manage and maintain BIM standards and software component libraries, ensuring compliance with project and industry requirements.
  • Oversee clash detection, model audits, quality assurance processes and contribute to BIM Execution Plans.
  • Mentor junior modellers and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Plan, organise and manage work packages or projects,
  • Travel in the UK and abroad for short assignments (as per project requirements).
  • Developing IFC shared parameter files and classification of model elements to IFC schemas.
Candidate Specification

We are seeking an experienced Senior BIM Modeller with preferably some knowledge of Mechanical Engineering to join our dynamic team in the Maritime Engineering Services sector.

A proportion of work projects are likely to involve UK Ministry of Defence. As a result, candidates must be eligible to apply for and attain SC (Security Check) clearance.

This role might be right for you if you have:

  • Proficiency in Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • A solid understanding of ISO 19650 workflows and BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
  • A logical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to undertake tasks independently and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
  • Hands-on experience with model federation, issue tracking, and clash detection.
  • Preferably experience in mechanical drawings, pipework, schematics etc.
  • Desirable extras: BIM certifications, familiarity with 4D/5D BIM for sequencing and cost estimation, and experience with data visualisation tools
  • Preferably a Full Driving Licence
  • Willingness to travel to other UK offices.
