Salary:

£36,000+ Depending on skills and experience


What You Will Be Doing


  • You will be directly supporting our World Class Submarines by producing 3D models of either Pipe routes, HVAC systems or mechanical compartment arrangements using the CAD toolset.
  • Your responsibilities will also include producing 2D drawings and electronic data and BoM item development to a fast-paced schedule to support manufacturing, installation, and testing of our products.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with other Design team members and Stakeholders who are working towards the same common goal.
  • Work as part of a team to produce an Integrated Design that meets our client's expectations and set of requirements.


Your Skills And Experiences


  • Understanding of CAD toolsets and techniques e.g. AUTOCAD, Foran, Solidworks and Siemens NX in both 2D (Diagrams) and 3D outputs (drawings and models).
  • HNC / ONC level or degree qualification in relevant STEM subject or equivalent work experience.
  • Understanding of mechanical routed systems at both 2D and 3D level in piping or HVAC design.
  • Experience in Mechanical Compartment Integration / Room Integration and/or Engineering Standards at Component / Equipment level.

The Mechanical Designer Team

You will be working with mentors and coaches providing on-the-job support and training. Reporting to a Project Leader, you will collaborate with other Designers of various levels. There are opportunities for career progression to roles such as Principal Designer or Assistant Project Leader. We also offer relocation support for eligible candidates.
