Are you looking for an exciting and dynamic role where you can leverage your expertise in market trends and technical knowledge to shape and expand Europa’s diverse range of Circuit Protection and Control Gear? Europa is based in Luton and this role is a hybrid role with weekly attendance to Luton.

The Role

In line with our current growth plan, we're on the lookout for a talented Product Manager to join our team.

As an integral part of the overall Technical Team, you will use your experience, knowledge, skill, and ability to work both with our internal team and external partners to develop new products & enhance existing ones. You will also be part of the decision-making process, making recommendations regarding capability, enhancement & technical matters driven by existing and new market demands.

If you have experience in Residential and Commercial circuit protection systems, including Consumer Units, TPN Distribution Boards, and associated switchgear and protection devices such as MCB’s RCCB’s and RCBO’S, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

The Product Manager is responsible for the strategic direction, planning, and execution of our products throughout their lifecycle, ensuring they align with business goals and meet customer needs. You will act as a liaison between various departments, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to drive product success. Key responsibilities include defining product vision, conducting market research, prioritizing features, and managing the product roadmap

In return we will offer you a competitive salary from £45,000 per annum dependant upon experience, 23 days holiday which increases with service & the option to purchase more, increased pension contribution, BUPA private healthcare with the option to add family members, 3 x life assurance & EAP, companywide bonus scheme, free onsite parking useful for travel from Luton Airport.

Principal Role requirements of Product Manager

Working closely with the Technical Director, the Marketing team, other internal engineers, and the External Sales Team, you’ll focus on:

Product Vision and Strategy: Defining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and customer needs.

Market Research and Analysis: Conducting market research, analysing customer needs, and understanding competitive landscape.

Feature Prioritization: Prioritizing product features and requirements based on business value and technical feasibility.

Roadmap Development: Creating and maintaining a product roadmap, outlining future releases and features.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure product development aligns with the overall business strategy.

Product Performance Monitoring: Tracking product performance metrics and using data to identify areas for improvement.

Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicating product strategy and progress to stakeholders, including senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the product development lifecycle.

Experience and Knowledge requirements

  • University degree or HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline / relevant experience.

  • A strong understanding and working knowledge of electrical components (both domestic and industrial).

  • Ideally a history of working alongside automation, HMI, IoT applications in electromechanical applications.

  • Have a thorough understanding of relevant applicable UK product standards and overview of the UK wiring regulations.

  • Experienced across different markets and applications.

  • An inquisitive and forward-looking nature, and a collaborative style.

  • Flexible and innovative thinking.

  • Experience of introducing new technology into existing systems to enhance an existing service.

  • Be commercially astute and able to consider and effectively communicate cost impacts on decisions and proposals.

  • An ability to represent the team both internally and externally, potentially providing industry thought leadership.

  • Be resourceful and have strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and adapting those skills to a team environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to effectively communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to stakeholders.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyse market data, identify opportunities, and solve problems.

  • Strategic thinking and planning: Ability to develop and execute a product strategy that aligns with business goals.
