Our client is a respected engineering consultancy with deep roots in Manchester and a project portfolio spanning Healthcare, Commercial, Residential, Science & Research
and Mission Critical sectors. They're hiring a Principal Mechanical Engineer —carry greater strategic influence over both projects and people.


What the role involves

  • Serving as the primary client contact on large, complex schemes — building lasting relationships and identifying future opportunities
  • Owning projects end-to-end, from defining the brief through to profitable, high-quality delivery
  • Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams, delegating effectively and upholding technical standards throughout
  • Contributing to business development activity, including bid preparation and promoting the full consultancy offering
  • Playing an active role in building and developing a strong local team in Manchester

What they're looking for

  • Extensive mechanical engineering consultancy experience with a strong grasp of HVAC, heating and ventilation systems
  • Confident using Revit and/or AutoCAD in a design delivery context
  • Skilled at managing both client relationships and internal project teams across disciplines
  • Solid understanding of relevant British Standards
  • An appreciation of how complementary specialisms — acoustics, fire engineering, computational modelling — interact with mechanical design
