Principal Building Services Design Engineer - (Mechanical) We are looking for a person who is eager to further develop their experience and responsibilities within the Building Services Mechanical sector and lead a team of junior engineers in the engineering delivery of projects to time, cost and quality or in the sole management and leadership of small projects

As a senior professional in our team, you'll lead the functional delivery of projects-often multidisciplinary-ensuring they meet scope, time, cost, and quality expectations. You'll be a role model, actively supporting junior staff and contributing to team development, resource planning, and continuous improvement.

You'll take ownership of your work and guide others, from planning and prioritising tasks to checking calculations and ensuring high-quality outputs. Your understanding of scope, fees, and client communication will be key in managing expectations and identifying value-adding opportunities.

Beyond technical delivery, you'll play a vital role in mentoring, promoting diversity and inclusion, and supporting strategic activities like recruitment, budgeting, and policy development. You'll represent Jacobs in client meetings, help strengthen relationships, and contribute to winning future work.

Due to our expanding portfolio and long-term local framework growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Engineer (Building Services) to join our multi-disciplinary UK buildings team in our Birmingham, London or Manchester offices

As part of our multi-disciplinary design consultancy our Building Services team are involved in a variety of refurbishment and new build projects, planned and reactive maintenance projects, major infrastructure replacement projects, including several multi-million-pound development schemes and framework agreements within the construction industry here in UK as well as abroad.

These projects cover a multitude of sectors including High-rise Residential, District Energy Systems, Aviation, Transport, Energy and Power, Water, Data Centres, industrial, Healthcare and many more.

* Degree in Building Services Mechanical Engineering orequivalent qualification/experience.
* Proficient inRevit MEP,AutoCAD,IES VE, andbuilding regulation compliance assessments.
* MCIBSE / MIET C Eng accreditation(or actively working towards it).
* Strong knowledge ofUK building regulations.
* Experience insustainable technology integration.
* Provenproject leadershipandpeople managementcapabilities.
* Excellenttechnical skillsand attention to detail.
* Ability to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions in a multidisciplinary environment.

Please note this is a hybrid role requiring 2 to 3 days in the office including client site visits.
