Physiotherapy Service Lead - Band 8a - GH at NHS Lothian. This full-time post offers an opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist with operational management skills to lead physiotherapy services in Unscheduled Care and contribute to whole-system transformation within West Lothian Health & Social Care Partnership.

Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate and effective leadership to the Physiotherapy Teams in community rehabilitation and intermediate care.
  • Support the Unscheduled Care Physiotherapy Service, based at ST John’s Hospital Livingstone, and its outreach to the adult population of West Lothian.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and decision-making skills, a commitment to patient safety and staff wellbeing, and experience in supervision and mentoring.
  • Drive data‑driven improvements to influence decisions about patient care and service provision.
  • Collaborate across services and third-sector organisations to manage complex clinical situations and contribute to decision‑making for improved patient care.
  • Contribute to the reorganisation of Occupational Therapy / Physiotherapy services to support a whole-system transformation.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience as Physiotherapist with operational/leadership experience in community and hospital settings.
  • Strong leadership, strategic management, and mentoring abilities.
  • Interest in data-driven improvements and service development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across services and sectors.
  • Ability to provide professional supervision and support staff wellbeing.

This post requires PVG Scheme membership/record and, due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, may require a different level of criminal records check. If the post is assessed as a regulated role, appointment will be subject to PVG checks. Instructions and details will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager or Recruitment Team. This role is based in West Lothian with responsibilities across community and hospital settings.
