Salary: £26-27 per hour (umbrella of your choice)

Job Type: 3 month locum contract with a view to extend. To start in January 2027.

Shifts: Monday – Friday full time hours ideal, but will consider part time hours 3 days minimum.

About the Role:

HCRG Staffing are looking for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to work in an Adult Community Mental Health Team for an NHS service in Leicester, East Midlands. The service would also consider an experienced band 5. Car driver essential as community work involved.

  • To provide a high standard of Physiotherapy service to all patients.
  • To support the Team Leader to organise, develop and maintain an efficient and effective Physiotherapy (PT) service.
  • To undertake therapeutic assessment of patients, some of whom may have complex and diverse conditions, and delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Following assessment to provide, develop and implement individual care/treatment plans
  • To hold responsibility and manage own caseload effectively, working without direct supervision; with access to advice and support from a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist as required in addition to regular supervision processes
  • Contribute to the supervision, education and assessment of the performance of Physiotherapy students in accordance with University standards.
  • To take responsibility for the clinical supervision of Junior members of staff working with the post holder.
  • To participate in audit and research projects to further own and team’s clinical practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including the management of patients in your care
  • To be responsible for organising and planning own caseload and monitoring those of other team members to meet patient priorities and service needs. Readjusting plans as situations change/arise
  • To represent the Physiotherapy service and/or patients at multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure the delivery of a co-ordinated multi-disciplinary service and integrate physiotherapy treatment into the treatment programme. This will include discussion of patient care, patient progress and involvement in discharge planning.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Education: Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Licenses: HCPC registered
  • Experience: 2 years experience minimum. Must have NHS experience.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to use own initiative to provide information and support to other staff
