A competitive base

As an RAC Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division, you’ll bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to our customers, wherever they are. From driveways to office car parks, you’ll deliver first-class service without the constraints of a traditional garage.
We’ll equip you for success from day one — with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit all provided.

Earnings That Motivate  - enjoy a market-competitive base salary of £38,625, with the opportunity to increase your earnings up to £50,000 through bonuses and premium-rate overtime. A full-time 40-hour week, with Monday–Saturday availability (8am–8pm), offers flexibility and stability

Opt-in Guaranteed Overtime -   after your first month, you can choose to work extra rest days at £30 per hour. Just one extra day a month could earn you £3,000 more per year on top of your base salary.  Two extra days could give you an extra £5,000.  It's your choice - more flexibility, more reward.

You're someone who gets people. This isn’t just spanners and engines—our mechanics are out there on driveways, chatting with customers, giving advice, and representing the RAC with pride. You’re not just in the RAC—you are the RAC. Every fix, every chat, every driveway visit shows what we’re all about.

You like mixing things up. Every day’s a little different—servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and checks. But it doesn’t stop there: you’ll manage your stock, do your reporting, and keep those customer conversations flowing.

You think on your feet. You’ll be trusted to think on your feet and make the right call for each customer. Different fixes, different faces, new challenges every day.

What you’ll need:

Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)

At least 3 years' hands-on experience as a vehicle technician working with a range of light vehicles

A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
