Responsibilities
  • Overseeing maintenance and repair of facilities and engineering workshop techniques
  • Ability to challenge poor behaviours and make corrective changes in their team and across other teams
  • Providing advice, assurance and best practice into programmes containing a large element of mechanical engineering capability
  • Delivery, support and technical leadership
  • Risk management and make sure all tests are carried out I the safest way possible
  • Understanding the broad and diverse technical domains that their engineering team supports and the implications to the development and sustainment of capability
Essential Experience
  • Demonstrable experience working in an engineering maintenance environment with a technical leadership background
  • Leadership and capability development of teams to meet specific objectives
  • Stakeholder engagement and leadership (both within and external to QinetiQ) to ensure successful delivery of complex projects
Essential Qualifications
  • A Mechanical Engineering based degree or similar
  • Understanding of POWER, LOLER and COSHH regulations
Working Hours

This role is 37 hours per week based at Shoeburyness. The expectation for this role is 4-5 days a week on site.

Site

QinetiQ Shoeburyness is a significant test and evaluation facility specialising in defence and security technologies. The site is focused on Environmental Testing including the evaluation of various ordnance, explosives and related systems. Implementing measures to ensure that testing activities comply with environmental regulations and minimise ecological impact.
