Mechanical Supervisor / Senior Plumber

Portsmouth South Coast & M3 Corridor
£28 £32 per hour + Company Vehicle and Benefits

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Plumber or Mechanical Installer looking to step into a hybrid supervisory role with a respected M&E Building Services contractor delivering projects across the South Coast and M3 corridor.

The role combines mechanical installation with site supervision, making it ideal for someone who enjoys remaining hands-on while also taking responsibility for coordinating works and supporting Project Managers on site.

About the Company

Our client is a well-established M&E Building Services contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical installations across the South Coast and surrounding regions. The business has built long-standing relationships with its clients and is known for its supportive team culture, collaborative working environment, and commitment to delivering projects to a high professional standard.

The Role

This is a practical and varied role where the successful candidate will combine mechanical installation work with supervisory responsibilities depending on project requirements.

At times you may be responsible for supervising mechanical installations on site, coordinating labour and ensuring works are delivered to the required standards. On other occasions you will be supporting installation teams directly, carrying out plumbing and mechanical works.

The company delivers a range of commercial, healthcare, student accommodation and residential projects, with mechanical package values typically ranging from £200k up to £2m.

Projects are typically located across the South Coast and M3 corridor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising mechanical and plumbing installations on site
  • Coordinating labour and supporting installation teams
  • Carrying out mechanical and plumbing installation work where required
  • Supporting Project Managers with project delivery
  • Ensuring installations meet required quality standards
  • Maintaining health and safety standards on site

Requirements

  • Strong plumbing or mechanical installation background
  • Experience supervising mechanical works or leading teams on site
  • Good understanding of mechanical building services installations
  • Practical and hands-on approach to project delivery
  • SSSTS preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Full UK driving licence

Remuneration Package Mechanical Supervisor

£28 £32 per hour
