Mechanical Project Manager (HVAC & Plumbing) | Midlands (projects across the UK & Ireland) | Full-time, Permanent | £55,000–£60,000 (DOE) + Benefits

About the Role

An established building services contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to lead and deliver HVAC and plumbing projects. This role involves overseeing multiple mechanical installation projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to a high standard. You will also allocate work to a small project delivery team and support their progress.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of HVAC and mechanical installation projects across the UK and Ireland
  • Attend client meetings, pre-start meetings, and ongoing project reviews
  • Plan and manage both subcontract and direct labour resources
  • Oversee purchasing of materials and ensure supply chain effectiveness
  • Maintain communication with clients and internal teams throughout project lifecycle
  • Develop RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
  • Produce Operation & Maintenance manuals
  • Manage projects ranging from £5k to £1m
  • Handle contract variations and support bid proposals and surveys
  • Ensure all projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality expectations
  • Allocate projects to other Project Managers and monitor their delivery performance
  • Work closely with senior leadership to improve processes and operational efficiency
  • Respond quickly and effectively to on-site and off-site project issues

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Strong background in the air conditioning/HVAC sector (essential)
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry-standard suppliers/equipment
  • Ability to manage projects from conception to completion
  • Proficient with IT systems and comfortable working from CAD drawings
  • Strong communicator with proven relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated, well‑organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • ONC/HNC in Building Services (HVAC) preferred
  • CSCS card and solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements
  • Track record of successful project management within mechanical services
