Kennedy Fox Associates are working with a family-owned company located in West Bromwich who are specialists in organo-sulphur synthesis and high-pressure hydrogenation supplying organic chemistry services to a global market in quantities from grams to multi-tonnes.

They manufacture for the Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical and Speciality Chemical industries and are experts in custom synthesis, contract manufacture and process optimisation.


They are now recruiting a Mechanical Manager focusing on overall Plant maintenance.


This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled Engineering team within a COMAH facility. The successful candidate will be an experienced, qualified Mechanical Engineering Manager.


Responsibilities:


  • Overall responsibility for the Mechanical & Civil Engineering departments which includes 21 staff, and contractors as and when required.
  • Mechanical and Civil maintenance dept management within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Minor mechanical project engineering management experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Fluent in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Excellent personnel management skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Safety, Health & Environmental – To maintain and promote a safe operating culture within the department ensuring that in all its aspects of installation and maintenance it operates to the highest levels of safety and meets all legal and statutory requirements, company rules and procedures.
  • Liaison at all levels inside the company. Outside contacts typically include suppliers, contractors and agencies such as the HSE & insurance inspectors.


Experience Needed:


  • A Mechanical Engineering HNC as a minimum, ideally a Mech Engineering degree.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience within an industrial manufacturing environment, or a COMAH site, in a Mechanical Engineering role, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • The job requires a flexible attitude to deal with multiple complex jobs simultaneously to meet the required changes in operational priorities.
