Ford & Stanley Talentwise are on the lookout for passionate and driven Mechanical Technicians to drive forward the assembly of cutting-edge rolling stock vehicles for CAF UK. Be part of an exciting new era in rail, working on next-generation rail vehicles at a state-of-the-art production facility in Newport, Wales.

Shift Patterns / Hours:

  • Shifts: Earlies: Monday to Friday 6AM-2PM. Lates: Monday to Friday 2PM-10PM, (alternating weekly)

Key Role and Responsibilities:

The Assembly Operative is a member of a team responsible for carrying out various assembly procedures, including fitting components across Mechanical tasks within a Production environment to achieve the fully built vehicle.



  • Follows specifications and other appropriate instructions and/or procedures to accurately assemble components on a train using a variety of tools and equipment.
  • Carry out lean production activities.
  • Record and report faults to relevant areas of production
  • Ensure all records (manual and digital) are completed correctly and on time.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with a willingness to learn and the ability to adapt quickly to new surroundings


You will have a background in heavy engineering and an Mechanical skillset.


Essentials:

  • Ability to read and work to Mechanical Drawings
  • High attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks well
  • Able to use a variety of machines and hand tools
  • Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Knowledge and experience in promoting safe working practices in a safety‑critical workplace
  • Able to maintain accurate records Desirables
  • NVQ Level 3 or relevant professional experience
