The Site Services Division at AJT is at the heart of our work in Renewables, Hydro Electric, and Water Treatment sectors. We are currently recruiting for multiple Mechanical Fitters due to continued growth and expansion. Job Purpose

Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Fitter and play a crucial role in driving industrial efficiency and innovation. Your expertise will be instrumental in the meticulous handling of mechanical components, from removal to commissioning, ensuring peak performance and safety across diverse client sites.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out the removal / installation of mechanical components from the customer’s sites
  • Disassembly / assembly of mechanical components as required
  • Undertake identification and labelling of all mechanical components for traceability & ID
  • Cleaning / protecting mechanical components as required
  • Carry out conditional reporting on mechanical components, liaising with the relevant Project Engineer
  • Identifying mechanical components requiring replacement and reporting to the relevant Project Engineer
  • Carry out dimensional checks and sizing of mechanical components using calibrated equipment
  • Carry out refurbishment of mechanical components as required
  • Undertake onsite commissioning of mechanical components on customer sites
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment and make appropriate use of PPE at all times
  • Work to the requirements of CDM regulations 2015
  • Work to HSE ACOPs, customer rules & specifications, company work instructions and route cards at all times
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times
  • Carry out any other reasonable task / activities as requested by Manager or delegate

Your Toolkit for Success

  • Proven ability to quickly adapt and learn in a dynamic engineering environment
  • Sharp eye for interpreting complex engineering drawings and BOMs
  • Precision‑driven mindset with a keen attention to detail
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Self‑motivated problem‑solver with a collaborative spirit
  • Advanced communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Flexibility to travel and work extended hours when required

Qualifications & Experience

  • SVQ level 3 or higher in a relevant trade qualification
  • Ideally 5+ years of hands‑on experience in an engineering setting
  • Extensive experience with hand and power tools
  • Familiarity with CDM worksites is a plus
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO45001 standards
  • Valid, clean driving licence preferred

Working Hours

This is a full‑time role based on 38 hours per week.
