About the Role

We are looking for hands‑on Mechanical Fitters or Technicians to join a busy heavy engineering depot. You will work as part of a skilled team carrying out full mechanical strip‑downs, rebuilds and overhauls on large equipment, ensuring it is safe, reliable and ready for operation. Hands‑on work with multiple vehicle types, each requiring tailored engineering solutions.


What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Carry out mechanical overhauls, inspections and rebuilds.
  • Work with air tools and calibrated tools.
  • Support safety checks and fault rectification in the workshop.
  • Maintain depot safety and cleanliness standards.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience as an HGV, plant or vehicle mechanic/technician.
  • Experience as a Mechanical or engineering fitter.
  • Experience as a Bodyshop or heavy equipment engineer.
  • Level 3 mechanical qualification or equivalent skill and work ethic.
  • Capacity to pass a drug and alcohol test and obtain a satisfactory DBS check.

Shifts & Overtime

  • Early Shift: Mon‑Thurs 06:00‑14:30, Fri 06:00‑13:30
  • Late Shift: Mon‑Thurs 14:00‑22:30, Fri 10:30‑18:00
  • Opportunity to pick up overtime during the week and on weekends.
