The Wythenshawe EstatesTeam delivers a wide range of estate and property management services across multiple hospital sites. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical HVAC / Multi‑Skilled Engineer to join our team and support the delivery of Hard FM services across our estate.


As a Wythenshawe Estates Tradesperson, you will play a key role in maintaining the Trust's buildings, plant, and infrastructure safely, efficiently, and in line with statutory requirements and NHS Trust policies. You'll be part of a multi‑disciplinary team, working alongside healthcare professionals to deliver high‑quality maintenance and compliance services.


Your work will involve a combination of planned and reactive maintenance, delivered both by in‑house teams and external contractors. With multiple sites and varying service users, no two days will be the same – if you're looking for a role with variety and purpose, this could be the perfect fit.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform reactive and pro‑active Mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations on heating, ventilation, chilled water, and BMS systems. It will be anticipated that some general building repair duties will also be required to be undertaken.
  • Conduct fault‑finding diagnostics to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Work safely under mechanical permit systems and adhere to health & safety regulations.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and statutory inspections.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to ensure fast and efficient responses to breakdowns.
  • Participate in the on‑call roster to provide essential support.
  • Work with tools, access equipment, and occasionally drive company vehicles as required.

What you bring:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a similar role.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and building energy management systems.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • 40 hours per week -Monday - Friday 08:00- 16:30

(Opportunity for additional pay through occasional on‑call duties and overtime).
