The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in UK& Ireland’s Building Services sector. Alternative Heat design, develop and deliver a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative, and sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Europe.


What We Do

We specialise in the design, supply, and installation of a wide range of prefabricated energy solutions, typically built in NI and shipped throughout the UK & Europe. We also offer turnkey design, build, and operate solutions for commercial energy centres and large-scale district heating solutions and have experience with successfully procuring and delivering many similar packages to a wide range of public bodies throughout UK & Europe.


Team Overview

The Contracts department oversees the delivery and execution of projects from initial mobilisation through to completion and handover. Acting as the bridge between design, commercial, and on-site teams, the department ensures that all contractual obligations are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. With a focus on planning, resource coordination, and problem-solving, the Contracts team plays a key role in ensuring our projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the satisfaction of our clients.


Role Overview

Due to continued growth, we are looking to integrate a Mechanical Fitter to support our growing team in our fabulous new Head Quarters based in Banbridge. This post is permanent contract. Hours | Monday-Thursday 7am-5pm and Friday 7am-4pm


Salary | Competitive Depending on Experience


Responsible to | Site Manager


What You'll be Doing

  • The successful candidate will assist in the installation of prefabricated pipework.
  • They will also have to assemble screwed pipework working off and drawing pack on different projects.
  • They will review assembly drawings, position, and install the support bracketry.
  • Position and install the correct pipework in our wide range of modules, ranging in design and sizes. Successful candidate will follow this process throughout all live projects.
  • They will also be involved in the assembly of our prefabricated plantrooms.
  • Once these works are completed, they will carry out pressure testing on all pipework or equipment installed.
  • Other works involved are bolt torquing, insulation block installs, threaded rod capping, additional bracketry install etc.

What You Need to Have

  • 2 years’ experience within the mechanical industry completing similar duties.
  • The ability to read and understand assembly and schematic drawings.
  • Basic set of mechanical tools.
  • Reliable & punctual.
  • Good teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to help in other areas of the assembly yard.

What You Would Ideally Have

  • Full UK Driving license would be preferred.
  • Valid CSR Card
  • Current Forklift license
  • Forklift, overhead crane, or elevated work platform (EWP) license (advantageous)
  • Relevant certifications – NVQ etc.
