What You'll Be Doing

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical lifting, pulling and deployment (LPD) systems and related equipment. The role will include workshop‑based fitting as well as site installations and servicing when required.


Day To Day Responsibilities

  • Assemble, strip, and rebuild LPD mechanical components to engineering specifications
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on LPD systems
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs to a high standard
  • Work with engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Conduct testing and commissioning of equipment
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment in line with company HSE policies

Essential

What experience you'll bring:



  • Completion of a recognised engineering / trade apprenticeship
  • Competent in the use of measuring tools such as micrometres, vernier gauges, and dial indicators
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals
  • Experience in limits and fits on machined components
  • Experience in the assembly of new mechanical equipment
  • Competent in the use of heavy workshop tooling
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools
  • Experience in the use of manual and hydraulic bolt‑torquing equipment

Preferred

  • Knowledge of working with heavy machinery
  • HNC or equivalent in Engineering
