What are we looking for

We have an opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter where you will assemble, test, and verify components within a production environment, ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency. The role requires strong technical skills, the ability to interpret engineering information and a commitment to continuous improvement and safe working practices.


Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings.
  • Performs bending and forming of pipe to required specifications.
  • Accurately measures using both imperial and metric systems.
  • Carries out pre‑use machinery checks and identifies/report faults.
  • Performs quality assurance checks and functional testing of components.
  • Works effectively with production tools, jigs, fixtures, and measuring equipment.
  • Follows standard procedures to maintain high‑quality throughput.
  • Completes documentation accurately and maintains traceability.
  • Identifies, reports, and records defects in line with quality standards.
  • Assesses data against predefined parameters to ensure build compliance.
  • Signs off build stages confidently and accurately.
  • Adheres to all workplace Health & Safety procedures.
  • Achieves daily/weekly targets.


  • Ensures work areas are stocked with required materials/equipment.
  • Investigates faults or variances within the build process.
  • Uses data, technical information, and practical knowledge to make sound decisions.
  • Supports team members and contributes to a positive working environment.
  • Shares knowledge and promotes best practices.
  • Communicates clearly with production, quality, and managers.

About You
Knowledge and Experience

  • NVQ level 3 in associated mechanical discipline
  • Good English and Mathematic skills
  • Manual handling
  • 5S in the workplace
  • Production based qualifications an advantage
  • Experience working in a production, assembly, or manufacturing environment
  • Experience following standard operating procedures and quality processes
  • Understanding of basic Health & Safety requirements in a workshop or factory setting
  • Experience using hand tools, machinery, and measuring equipment
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering/technical drawings
  • Experience performing pipe bending or forming work
  • Experience completing build documentation and maintaining traceability

Skills and Abilities

  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to achieving high standards
  • Safety‑conscious with a responsible approach to risk and compliance
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and business needs
  • Positive team player with good communication skills
  • Takes ownership of tasks and completes work to agreed timescales
