Mechanical Estimator

A very well-established M&E Contractor are looking for a Mechanical Estimator to join their commercial team. They are a small-mid-size company who have developed an exceptional reputation for quality and engineering expertise.
They have a large array of clients who come back to them time and again.
They are looking for a Mechanical-bias Estimator, who has experience of undertaking and producing combined M&E bids. As part of a small company you will need to be able to turn your hand to different elements of the project process including some commercial management within the project lifecycle.
There is opportunities for potential growth within the business, and you will be a senior member of the business.
Job Specification

• Respond to tender inquiries, prepare and submit competitive tender packages and pricing for a range of tender values up to £2m in accordance with the specification / scope of works
• To estimate preliminary costs required to execute the projects
• Send out enquires to suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive prices
• Perform take offs from drawings and input data in to cost model to support tender submissions
• Analyse received quotations to ensure compliance with tender requirements
• Surveying, assist in costing Variations, preparing handover reports

Person Specification

• Demonstrable experience as an Mechanical Estimator with a reputable M&E Contractor
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills
• Commercially very astute
• Ability to manage deadlines and produce high-quality tender submissions
• Ability to be flexible and turn your hand to different responsibilities
