Orton Mechanical Services are part of a Group of companies, which have been established in the installation and maintenance of Electrical and Mechanical installations for over 35years. The company has grown from a one-man enterprise to now employing over 120 direct employees. Much of our work is Midlands based; however, work is undertaken nationwide, consisting of the delivery in the following divisions: Commercial, Regeneration (social housing clients), PPM and Rail.

Orton Mechanical Services Limited are looking to further develop the Mechanical division operations within the Facilities Maintenance and commercial sectors. Therefore, seeking a mechanical estimator to develop operational activities as detailed below:

Job Description

The main responsibilities of the role shall include:

  • Develop client relationships with new and existing clients, obtaining new tender opportunities suiting the business requirements.
  • Prepare accurate tender submissions/quotations alongside existing teams
  • Work well under pressure to meet tender submission deadlines, react to adaptions and produce value engineering solutions where required
  • Contract management duties including procurement and control of labour and materials in line with budgets.
  • Attending site meetings where and when requested to do so
  • Preparation and issue of valuations on time for contracts you are responsible for
  • Assist in the roles and requirements of the accreditation held within the business
  • Assist in the H&S, Quality and delivery of the installation work carried out by the business.
  • Further develop operational teams managing supervisors

The Individual:

The role would ideally suit a time served mechanical engineer with exceptional all-round knowledge of the industry for both domestic and commercial elements of work

Preferred requirements for the role:

  • Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems
  • Certificate of Competence for Individual Gas Fitting Operatives (Domestic): CCN1, CENWAT, CDGA1, CIGA1, CORT1, CoNGLP1 (PD)
  • Certificate of Competence for Individual Gas Fitting Operatives (Commercial): COCN1, BMP1, ICPN1, TPCP1, TPCP1ACity & Guilds 2382 17th Edition wiring regulations.
  • Hold CSCS card
  • Computer literate and competent in the use of Word/Excel/Outlook.
  • Knowledgeable of current H & S and environment legislation.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible approach to working hours dependent on the needs of the business.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work unsupervised.
