The role

Were recruiting a Mechanical / HVAC Engineer to support a long-term Police estate contract across the Greater Manchester.

This is a site-based, compliance-focused role, carrying out structured SFG inspections on mechanical and HVAC plant. The work is hands-on and practical, focused on condition checks and accurate reporting, rather than design or office-based engineering.

What youll be doing

  • Youll complete planned SFG inspections on mechanical assets includingAHUs, fans, booster sets, expansion vessels and pressurisation units
  • Visual and mechanical condition checks
  • Verifying security, mounting and general condition
  • Functional testing where required
  • Identifying defects or deterioration
  • Recording findings for compliance purposes
  • Non-invasive inspection checks

What we're looking for

  • 2+ years experience in HVAC Engineering or mechanical building services
  • Experience working on-site with plant such as AHUs, fans, pumps, motors, valves and pressurisation systems
  • Confident carrying out structured inspections and condition assessments
  • Able to work independently and manage your own sites
  • Good written skills for clear and accurate reporting

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Electrical awareness or basic electrical qualification
  • Experience working to SFG, HTM or similar standards
  • Public sector or Police estate experience
  • SSSTS or similar site safety qualification
