Overview

Mechanical Engineer – Near Wyke Regis, Dorset. Permanent role with salary £30,000 - £40,000 depending on level of experience. 42.5 hours per week, 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. Overtime paid at premium rates (x1.5 and x2). Benefits include 22 days holiday + Bank Holidays, pension scheme, regular salary reviews, career development & training, and a company van.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake a varied workload including repairs, servicing or breakdowns both in the workshop or onsite at customers' premises.
  • Work on a range of industrial equipment including, but not limited to, roller doors, lifting equipment, plant equipment and industrial machines.
  • Be the first port of call for many companies due to broad skills and experience to fix a variety of equipment.
  • Apply mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic knowledge to diagnose and fix equipment problems; provide solutions where needed.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience of working with either mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic equipment.
  • Formal qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds / NVQ or HNC / HND in a relevant engineering course) would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Driving licence is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to find/derive solutions to fix equipment problems.
Location & Hours

Job location: Near Wyke Regis, Dorset. Hours: 42.5 hours per week, 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday with flexibility required due to the nature of the business.
