Here at Connect Appointments we have a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Bathgate-based client.

As Mechanical Fitter, your day-to-day role will be carrying out equipment repairs and servicing on a range of equipment and machinery in accordance with the approved maintenance schedules. You will be expected to:

  • Change pumps and gearboxes
  • Repair conveyors and elevators
  • Clear chokes and trouble shooting
  • Some welding may be needed - but full training can be provided

The ideal Mechanical Fitter will have:

  • Mechanical qualification (such as NVQ) or proven experience
  • Previous mechanical fitting working experience
  • Experience and knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment

What to expect from the role?

  • Temporary ongoing position
  • Rotational shifts of: 6am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm / 10pm to 6am
  • Paid weekly at 18.47 per hour (20.69 p/hour with shift allowance)
  • You may also need to cover holidays, working either 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am
