We’re excited to be looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in UK. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering conveyor technology for container and light unit load applications. From standard belt and roller systems to innovative complex machinery, you'll engineer next-generation solutions tailored to each unique project. You’ll work cross-functionally with experts in project delivery, controls, structural engineering, compliance, manufacturing, and installation. Together, you'll shape intralogistics systems that move industries forward.# We offer:* Career Development* Competitive Compensation And Benefits* Pay Transparency* Global OpportunitiesLearn More Here:# Tasks and Qualifications:* Develop project-specific approval layouts based on customer and sales input.* Translate complex project scopes into detailed system concepts and layouts.* Review material flow, define special designs, and outline ergonomic workspaces.* Conduct mechanical safety assessments and define required safeguards.* Collaborate with CE Compliance teams on risk assessments and site safety inspections.* Design and plan escape, transport, and maintenance access routes.* Coordinate with structural, installation, and controls teams to ensure seamless integration.* Provide technical expertise during customer meetings and engineering reviews.* Support interface definitions with suppliers and other trades.* Produce detailed mechanical layouts, specifications, and installation drawings.* Define conveyor components (drives, belts, rollers, guides, platforms, etc.).* Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including BOMs, SAP requisitions, and controls engineering data lists.* Provide remote and on-site engineering support during installation.* Ensure thorough technical handovers to installation and commissioning teams.* Educated to degree level (bachelor’s degree or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with a focus on application engineering.* Proven experience in mechanical design and project engineering, ideally in a complex systems or industrial environment.* Proficiency with AutoCAD, and experience using SolidWorks or other 3D CAD tools.* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.* A structured, methodical approach to engineering challenges.* Outstanding problem-solving capabilities and a proactive attitude.* Ability to work effectively within a diverse, multinational team across the EMEA region.* Full working proficiency in English.* Willingness to travel internationally for short and occasional trips (up to 10%).* Bonus Points if you: Have experience with Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Navisworks, SAP, or previous work in the intralogistics or material handling industry.Dematic is proud to provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants.
