The Contribution You Will Bring To This Role

The mechanical engineer is responsible for processing engineered solutions orders by producing GA drawings and BOMs to support the production team. Sales support will also be a key part of the role to ensure the correct equipment is specified at bid stage. This person will take a leading role in dealing with customer-specific projects during the approval process.

As a member of our Operations team, you will be dedicated to driving efficiency and excellence across all aspects of our business. The team focuses on streamlined processes and innovative solutions to ensure operations run smoothly. Members are skilled professionals who guide performance optimization and high-quality results.

What You Will Do At Justrite
  • Support the business by processing sales orders and creating bespoke solutions to customer requirements. Conduct safety walk-throughs at customer facilities, identifying hazards, compliance gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Complete Value Added Value Engineering (VAVE) activities and be a key stakeholder on major projects with KPIs linked to these projects. Develop new VAVE ideas to help meet global KPIs. Champion the STUD-E platform and mobile app to drive adoption and usage.
  • Collaborate with the technical manager to develop new concepts for market opportunities. Work with the CI team to improve production efficiencies. Document findings and deliver easy-to-understand compliance reports.
  • People management responsibilities such as performance management, discipline, hiring and training (authority level over staff).
  • Support the Sales Team in developing a controlled, centralised repository of standard drawings to aid quotation efficiency and support the Production Team in creating detailed manufacturing drawings for GA drawings.
  • Create bills of materials (BOMs) for assemblies based on approved GA and manufacturing drawings using the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and driving KPI improvements.
  • Support the global engineering team: share knowledge with junior team members; improve process efficiency; improve RFT for drawings and BOMs; contribute to best practice development and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure project sign-off and that all orders meet customer specifications; review returned customer comments on submitted drawings and assess impact on cost and capability when needed.
Basic Qualifications
  • Degree in a relevant discipline (BEng Mechanical Engineering) or sales-related education with demonstrated business acumen and soft skills
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a senior role within an engineering design team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent working knowledge of SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM; experience creating and maintaining BOMs in an ERP system; understanding of ERP interactions with engineering
  • Evidence of leading process improvements in drafting and CAD data management
Compensation

The compensation will be commensurate with experience. This role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company targets. Justrite has an annual evaluation system supporting professional and financial growth based on results and objectives.
