To ensure a viable, efficient, and reliable energy future for all## Job DescriptionAssystem Energy & Infrastructure are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work at our customers site in Warringtonon a contract basis.The Design Engineer is responsible for the creation of component/assembly designs and associated through life justification that meet their requirements and product attributes, ie life, cost availability and safety margins.Role details:* Job title: Mechanical Design Engineer* Contract length: 12 months* Location: Warrington* Contract type: PAYE via Umbrella solutionKey responsibilities include but are not limited to: To understand Product system / sub-system requirements and derive Component requirements at task level. To produce robust design solutions which are insensitive to variation to address specified requirements. To collaborate and communicate design solution information with task stakeholders. To search for, capture, store, and re-use knowledge relating to design activity.* To understand and apply the commodity standards and to create new standards where none exist.* To liaise with manufacturing and service engineering to actively integrate the experience and knowledge from these areas.* To check own and others design a solutions and technical for completeness and correctness.Qualifications and Experience:* Bachelor’s degree, Master’s or PhD in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience.* Technical experience relevant to the engineering discipline.* An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems.* Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and justification.* Membership of a relevant professional body or working towards.* Experience as design engineer operating across the product life cycle, undertaking design safety justification activites supporting manufacturing, integration, maintenance /refit activities and dealing with operational issues.* Experience of Research and development, analytical and test verification activities.* Experience in the development of methods, standards and processes.**Please be aware that many roles at Assystem are subject to both security and export control restrictions.****These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held,****and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation.All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard.
