Overview

Urgently hiring for an award-winning manufacturer of automation machinery and control systems. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing for customers' automation needs of special-purpose machinery. You will work on innovative projects across various industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and developing new and existing machinery
  • Conceptualizing and detailing automation solutions
  • Site layout design and project management
  • Ownership of customer projects from conception to customer satisfaction
  • Ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of projects
Requirements
  • Solid experience in special purpose machine design – ideally working for an OEM and/or experience designing and developing robot systems such as end-of-line palletizing equipment and/or work within a factory automation space
  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience (minimum 3 years CAD Draughtsman experience)
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and other Autodesk programs
  • A small digital portfolio, ahead of invitation to interview (treated in strictest confidence)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Presentable, articulate, and eligible to work in the UK
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with customers and suppliers
Junior role
  • Recent grad / under 5 years' experience in a relevant industry — would join as draughtsman and learn the industry and build experience
  • Good working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor
General-Senior role
  • +5 years solid industrial automation machinery experience (i.e. bespoke machines, complex sub assemblies, conveyors etc.)
  • Good working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and will hit the ground running
