Mechanical Design Engineer (Aviation)
£50,000 - £52,000 + Progression + Software Training + Unlimited Overtime + Mon-Fri

Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer from an aviation or automotive background or similar looking to join a rapidly growing niche company, offering in-house training by technical professionals on bespoke software, and swift progression to lead design roles within 2 years?
In this role you will be responsible for the reverse engineering of Merlin and Griffon engines used in Spitfires and Hurricanes for the RAF. You will use their bespoke CAD system NX for stripping surveys to examine what components need to be manufactured as well as stress testing and calculations on steel work.
This company have been operating for over 4 decades and have been rapidly expanding, growing their design team from 2 to 16 in 2 years, and currently employ 50 staff. They are nationally renowned for their high-quality work within this niche sector of the aviation industry and showcase their excellence at the Battle of Britain memorial each year.
This role would suit a Mechanical Design Engineer looking for a new challenge in a niche sector of the Aviation industry, with bespoke software training and rapid progression to lead design roles within 2 years.
The Role:
Reverse Engineering of Merlin and Griffon Engines
Perform stripping surveys to assess the components for design and manufacture
Stress testing and calculations on steel work
Mon-Fri, 8-5, 40 hrs per week. Unlimited optional overtime available
