The contribution you will bring to this role

The mechanical engineer is responsible for processing engineered solutions orders by producing GA drawings and BOMs supporting the production team where needed. Sales support will also be a key part of the role to ensure the correct equipment is specified at bid stage.

This person will take a leading role in dealing with customer specific projects during the approval process.

What you will do at Justrite
  • Support the business by processing sales orders and creating bespoke solutions to customer requirements. Conduct safety walk-throughs at customer facilities, identifying hazards, compliance gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Complete Value Added Value Engineering (VAVE) activities throughout the business and be a key stakeholder in larger projects with a specific KPI linked back to major projects that are being undertaken and develop new VAVE ideas to help the business meet global KPI’s. Champion the STUD-E platform and mobile app to drive effective adoption and usage.
  • Work alongside the technical manager to develop new concepts that can be taken to market for future opportunities. Also work with the CI team to develop robust solutions to production issues and help improve efficiencies. Document findings and deliver easy-to-understand compliance reports.
  • People managers – state authority level over staff – such as consistent performance management, discipline and hiring and training.
  • Support the Sales Team in the development of a controlled, centralised repository of standard drawings to aid in an efficient quotation process and support the Production Team in the creation of detailed manufacturing drawings to support the available GA drawings.
  • To create bills of materials (BOMs) for assemblies based upon approved GA and manufacturing drawings using the ERP system. Ensuring all information is right first time and taking a leading role in improving KPI’s linked to this part of the role
  • Help support the global engineering team through:
    • Passing on knowledge and experience to junior team members.
    • Process efficiency
    • Improving RFT for both drawings and BOMs looking at improving our RFT to 95%
    • Best practice development and continuous improvement
  • Responsible for project sign off and ensuring that all orders are produced in line with customer specifications, reviewing returned customer comments on submitted drawings and to review the impact on cost and capability when needed.
Basic Qualifications
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline i.e BEng Mechanical Engineering OR sales-related education (e.g., sales certificate) with demonstrated business acumen and soft skills
  • A minimum of three years experience in a senior role within an engineering design team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent working knowledge of SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM. Experience creating and maintaining BOMs in an ERP system. Knowledge of how an ERP system works and the impact engineering have on the system
  • Evidence of leading process improvements in drafting and CAD data management activities.
Compensation

The compensation will be commensurate with experience. Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan to enhance their overall total compensation package when Justrite Safety Group and their business units achieve annual business and financial targets.
