We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we are looking for candidates who share that same commitment.Summary of the roleAs a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where your ideas and contributions will be valued and respected.Working alongside the wider R&D and commercial teams to design and develop new test and inspection products to add to the existing product portfolio. The role will entail all elements of a new product development cycle, from early concept ideas through to serial production. It will require a sound mechanical engineering background; knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods, and pre-existing use of 3D Cad to an advanced level (preferably Autodesk Inventor)Role and Responsibilities* The design and creation of 3D CAD models and 2D detail drawings.* The creation of parts lists and bills of materials* Assembly and test of prototype designs* Detailed communication with equipment vendors and manufacturing sub-contractors* Preparing presentations for effective reporting out to team members and colleaguesSkills and Qualifications* Degree or equivalent in a mechanical engineering discipline.* Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar engineering / design environment* Ideally an understanding of the semiconductor or other relevant market sector* 3D CAD user to an advanced level (preferably Inventor)* Use of MS Office suite of products to an intermediate level* Ability to communicate effectively and technically with vendors and sub-contractorsTravel* The need for travel will be limited in this position, although it may require occasional visits to the head office / production site in Aylesbury, UKPlease note this position is cover for maternity leave (currently expected to be 12 months duration), but if you are interested in being part of the R&D team please apply online with your CV.About Nordson Test & InspectionNordson Test & Inspection manufactures world-class metrology equipment and inspection systems to ensure electronic products are built to meet the highest standards.
