The Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team supporting Sensors & Protection Technologies (S&PT) programs. You will be embedded within a cross-functional engineering team, contributing to the design and development of electronics packaging solutions for advanced defence systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronics packaging solutions for integration onto platforms.
  • Produce detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings using PTC Creo V7.
  • Conduct preliminary structural and thermal checks using Creo Simulate.
  • Collaborate with analysts using ANSYS Icepak, Fluent, and Siemens NX Nastran for detailed thermal and structural assessments.
  • Ensure designs meet PHDP and Lifecycle Management (LCM) system requirements.
  • Work closely with stress, thermal, and systems engineers to ensure compliance with all performance and environmental standards.
  • Support reviews, documentation, and compliance activities in line with project milestones.


Required Experience and Skills

  • Proven experience in mechanical design of electronic packaging or related enclosures within aerospace or defence.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace/defence design standards, tolerances, and materials.
  • Proficiency in PTC Creo for 3D modelling and detailed design.
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Self-sufficient with the ability to deliver designs with minimal supervision.


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
