PMUK's Home Appliance Division is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join the R&D Mechanical team. The successful candidate will operate within a project team, taking technical responsibility for design, development, and evaluation tasks, ensuring that project objectives are met. This role involves providing technical support, resolving issues, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to project success.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING


  • Control the design, development, and evaluation of components and assemblies for new and existing models from concept to mass production, ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
  • Apply technical knowledge to resolve issues and coordinate development activities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support project documentation and schedule management, including BOMs and project plans.
  • Ensure timely availability of mechanical parts for sample builds.
  • Participate in development meetings, providing technical updates and solutions.
  • Support testing and evaluation of appliances, assemblies, and components.
  • Mentor and support junior Mechanical Design team members.
  • Address historic problems to improve future designs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety directives and cost requirements.
  • Consider new technologies to improve R&D systems and processes.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Essential Requirements


  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience (3+ years industry experience or 5+ years relevant experience).
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Component design experience (plastic and sheet metal preferred).
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes (injection molding, metal pressing).
  • High proficiency in 3D CAD (preferably CATIA V5 and ENOVIA).


Desirable Requirements


  • Assembly design experience.
  • Drafting skills including dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Materials selection experience.
  • Product and component evaluation experience.
  • Knowledge of project management and quality methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Experience with simulation tools (CFD, FEA).

Working Hours: 07:45 – 16:30 Monday – Thursday, 07:45 – 13:30 Friday.
